Current Building Status Surveys

Whether it is a rehabilitation, extension or for matters of conservation of architectural heritage, Our extensive experience will ensure that the plans are adapted to your needs. Our team has extensive experience in both surveying and interpretation tasks and in their representation (plans, elevations, sections, details, etc.).

Data is obtained with a Laser Scanner, obtaining a point cloud that must allow the delineation of floors, elevations and sections, or BIM modeling.

Altiplà advises you without obligation to obtain the drawing up of building plans most appropriate in each case.

Altiplà uses state-of-the-art laser scanning technology to capture data with millimeter precision to obtain:

Advantages of laser scanner surveys

Precision

Combined with classical topography and exhaustive quality control, we ensure that data capture with a laser scanner guarantees the geometry of all the captured elements. We use the most appropriate scanner in each case, assessing performance and precision (Leica RtC360, Leica BLK, NavVis…).

Efficiency

Laser scanner surveys are fast, which reduces the time required for data collection and minimizes on-site interruptions.

The scanner captures millions of points with attributes, through which a virtual copy of the building is transported to the office, which should allow projects to be developed there to be expedited, avoiding travel and therefore reducing costs.

Versatility

It is suitable for both small and simple buildings and large, complex structures.

We have specific software: Cyclone Register 360 (laser scanner), Reality Capture (photogrammetry and laser scanner), CloudCompare (point cloud), TCP PointCloud Editor (point cloud).

Altiplà performs an exhaustive geometric control of the point cloud obtained through support with classical topography, ensuring the reliability of the result obtained.

At Altiplà, architects are involved in the generation of current state of building plans, ensuring a better interpretation and representation of the results obtained.

Applications of current status surveys:

01

Rehabilitation and restoration: Facilitates the planning of building rehabilitation and architectural restoration projects
02

Heritage conservation: Provides an accurate and reliable basis for documenting and preserving historic or heritage buildings
03

Extension and modification: Ensures that new constructions are properly integrated with existing structures

Combination with photogrammetry

For projects that require a even higher level of detail, Altiplà combines the results of the laser scanner with surveys carried out through photogrammetry, both terrestrial and aerial.

This additional technique allows capturing high-resolution images from various perspectives, which are used to complete the scanner surveys and create highly accurate three-dimensional models.

Point cloud

A point cloud is a collection of millions of data points captured by laser scanning or photogrammetry that represent the volume, surfaces, or geometries of a building. These points can be used to create detailed three-dimensional models, plans, and other documents necessary for the planning and execution of architectural projects.

Types of projects

Rehabilitation projects, heritage conservation, and any expansion of existing buildings are the ones that benefit the most from the use of laser scanners, as they provide the precision necessary to integrate new interventions with old structures.

What our customers think

A coworker at Altiplà recommended him to us and he is now one of our collaborators. Efficient, fast and decisive.
Almu Perez
He has been very friendly and professional. He has advised us on a problem with some neighbors and his opinion has been very helpful. Very decisive and effective.
Jordi Miralles
Good professionals with extensive experience. We have been working with them for years and now we have decided to try the point cloud... a good tool to avoid having to be on site all day and have the measurements at hand.
Marta Costa
The best surveyors in Barcelona without a doubt. They understand the needs of architects and help prevent cost overruns with the precision of their work.
Ivan Serrano
Very professional people, total involvement in their work. I would recommend this company for the quality, speed and empathy with which they deal with their customers.

Do you have any questions?

It is the process of capturing detailed data of an existing building using laser scanning technology. This data is processed to create accurate digital models, which can be used for rehabilitation, restoration, or expansion of the structure.

The laser scanner offers a much higher amount of data in capturing architectural details, which is essential to ensure that any construction or rehabilitation project is based on a faithful reproduction of the existing reality, reducing errors and unforeseen events.

The cost depends on the size and complexity of the building, as well as the level of detail required. It is recommended to request a personalized quote to obtain an accurate estimate.

Photogrammetry complements laser scanning by capturing detailed images that can be used to create three-dimensional models with a high level of detail, especially in areas where laser scanning may have limitations, such as reflective surfaces or very small spaces.
